ISU WellBeing: Mid-Morning Mindfulness  | 10:00 am - 10:15 am

There is no better way to stay focused and productive when things around you are a little chaotic than to practice mindfulness. Join your colleagues and the ISU WellBeing team every Tuesday and Thursday mornings now through August 18th for a simple 15-minute mindfulness experience. We will then take a pause until September 6th. For more information, click here. ISU WorkLife EAP Webinar: Building an Effective Team | 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

How do you build an effective team when you are surrounded by others who may think, behave and see the world differently? This session offers participants the opportunity to learn what makes an effective team, the challenges that can get in the way, and specific skills that each team member can practice on a day-to-day basis to improve relationships and team performance. Course Objectives: Build a vision of an effective team based on members own values and experiences, review the natural stages of team development, examine the barriers to effective team communication, and learn practical communication skills that each team member can apply to improve team relationships. Project Recovery Iowa Webinar: Anxiety Reduction and Self-Care | 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

As we reflect on the past two-plus years living with the pandemic, there has been disruption, uncertainty, and prolonged exhaustions which may have impacted your emotional wellbeing. Across the Midwest levels of anxiety and depression have remained three times higher than pre-pandemic levels. As we continue to better understand the impact of prolonged ups and downs in our lives, we want to help you look at strategies to assist and help those who are especially vulnerable. Mindspring Mental Health Alliance Webinar: Understanding Hoarding | 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

Hoarding is a compulsive behavior that involves much more than keeping extra papers around. This seminar explores the reasons people hoard, common symptoms of hoarding, and the impact hoarding has on both the individual and the family. ISU WellBeing: Friday Walk and Talk | 12:10pm | Steps Outside Beardshear Hall

Friday Walk and Talks will continue through August 19th (we will then pause until September 9th). Meet us for a one mile walk around our picturesque ISU campus. Come walk and talk with friends, colleagues, or just come and enjoy the beauty of campus. Join ISU WorkLife and WellBeing and de-stress from the week. The Friday Walk and Talks are an excellent way to connect and network with others!
