There is no better way to stay focused and productive when things around you are a little chaotic than to practice mindfulness. Join your colleagues and the ISU WellBeing team, and special guests, every Tuesday and Thursday mornings for a simple 15-minute mindfulness experience. Mindspring Mental Health Alliance Webinar: Understanding Dissociation & Dissociative Disorders | 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm 

Dissociation makes people feel disconnected from their thoughts, feelings, and memories. It's a normal phenomenon that most people experience at some point, though some will develop a dissociative disorder that requires treatment. Mindspring Mental Health Alliance Webinar: Understanding Schizophrenia | 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm 

Schizophrenia is a lifelong mental illness that changes how you think, feel, and act. A combination of hallucinations, delusions, disordered thinking and behavior can be debilitating. An accessible guide to understanding causation, symptoms, co-occurring disorders, and treatment options. If you are feeling stressed, overwhelmed, or simply need to step away from your workspace, the Strolls for Well-being at ISU were created to offer you various opportunities on central campus, or to pause wherever you are. Check out the Strolls webpage here. Whether you have 30 minutes or 5 minutes, these materials have been designed to be flexible and fit into your schedule. Participants will leave this session with an overview of the Strolls and an experience of how this program can support their overall holistic health. To register, click here

Friday, January 28:  

         ISU WellBeing: Friday Walk and Talk  |  *Live sessions have ended until early Spring 2022*

While our Walk and Talks have "officially" ended until Spring 2022, we still encourage everyone to get out and walk as weather permits! For more information and resources for walking on campus, click here. As we know, winter weather in Iowa can be unpredictable so if we have an unseasonably warm day and anyone feels like a group walk, send out a Campus Connection note in Adventure2 and see if your colleagues are up for an impromptu walk around campus! You can also check out our newest program, Strolls for Well-Being at ISU, for other ideas on combining walking and mindfulness.

Children are curious about their environment and the people around them.
