Tuesday, July 7:

There is no better way to stay focused and productive when all around you is a little chaotic than to practice mindfulness. Join your colleagues and the ISU WellBeing team, and special guests, every Tuesday and Thursday mornings for a mindfulness experience. For more information go here

Guest leader: Douglas Gentile, ISU Professor of Psychology.  Dr. Gentile studies how mass media influence children as well as how mindfulness techniques can help us to be happier and less anxious.  He is a certified meditation teacher, as well as a fully-ordained Zen monk.

  • ISU Webinar Discussion -  “What Do We Do About Child Care?” Conversations continues - 3:00 pm - 4:30 pm

The information, questions, concerns, and suggestions that were shared last week has led our WorkLife team to develop a care plan for our community. Friday, July 10: 

This week's topic: The Power to Create Something from Nothing: An activity focused on creativity and resourcefulness 
In this activity-based workshop, explore new ways to teach children to use what they have around them to make all sorts of things... even the clothes on their backs!

  • ISU WellBeing - Walk and Talk - Walk on your own or join the ISU WellBeing team at 12:10 for a virtual walk via Webex.  For more information go here. 

This summer we are continuing our encouragement for you to break from the work you are doing and go on a one-mile walk with us every Friday. There are lots of ways to connect during this time and we have listed a few below for you to try:

  • Call a colleague, family member, or friend and talk on the phone while you walk
  • Encourage those in your place of residence to walk with you – kids, spouse, etc.
  • Take your pet on a walk – good for you, good for them
  • Go it alone and enjoy the quiet and peace of the day away from everyone else
  • Or, join the ISU WellBeing team via Webex every Friday!
