In this webinar we will help participants recognize that our psychological peace is not based upon our external circumstances and when we are able to see the “inside-out” not “outside-in” reality of our world, we can more gracefully experience our work and personal lives with greater confidence and peace.  For more information go here.

Friday, June 26:

This week's topic: What Happens When my Child Learns Things About Society That I Didn't Teach Them at Home?

Students will be entering a new world when they return to school in the fall; a world changed by a global pandemic and a socio-political uprising. This session will help families and support networks learn how to nurture the learning of students who are entering an uncharted world in which the old rules are rapidly inapplicable. Our job is to help them make sense of the things that don’t even make sense to us.

This week's speaker: Monic Behnken; Associate Professor, Leadership Studies Director, and Ames Community School Board Elected Official

To register go here. To view future sessions, visit the WorkLife website or email cbroshar@iastate.edu.

This summer we are continuing our encouragement for you to break from the work you are doing and go on a one-mile walk with us every Friday. There are lots of ways to connect during this time and we have listed a few below for you to try:

  • Call a colleague, family member, or friend and talk on the phone while you walk
  • Encourage those in your place of residence to walk with you – kids, spouse, etc.
  • Take your pet on a walk – good for you, good for them
  • Go it alone and enjoy the quiet and peace of the day away from everyone else
  • Or, join the ISU WellBeing team via Webex every Friday!
