ISU WellBeing: Meditation 301: Compassionate Action | 2:30 - 3:00 pm

The world is a dynamic and difficult place where it's easy to feel overwhelmed.  How can we build the inner resources to work with others' distress as well as our own, so that we can be of benefit without getting burned out?  We will focus on meditation techniques and teachings that can help us to build trust in ourselves and our ability to handle our experience. Mindspring Mental Health Alliance Webinar: Creating Positive Connections in Discipline | 12:00 - 1:00 pm 

Does punishment change children’s behavior? Explore the differences between discipline and punishment and how discipline can be used to create trusting relationships that foster success.  There is no better way to stay focused and productive when all around you is a little chaotic than to practice mindfulness. Join your colleagues and the ISU WellBeing team, and special guests, every Tuesday and Thursday mornings for a simple 15-minute mindfulness experience. Mindspring Mental Health Alliance Webinar: Understanding Personality Disorders | 12:00 - 1:00 pm 

Personality describes everything about you, and personality disorders can be challenging to manage. If you are feeling stressed, overwhelmed, or simply need to step away from your workspace, the Strolls for Well-being at ISU were created to offer you various opportunities on central campus, or to pause wherever you are. Whether you have 30 minutes or 5 minutes, these materials have been designed to be flexible and fit into your schedule. Join us via Zoom for an introduction to the Strolls. Frequently asked questions will be addressed and the flexibility of this program will be experienced. Make the time to take a few deep breaths, notice the natural beauty around you, and simply 'be' for a few moments. To register, click here

         ISU WellBeing - Friday Walk and Talk  | 12:10 pm

Join us as we continue our Friday Walk & Talks this fall. We’ll meet on Fridays at 12:10 on the front steps of Beardshear for a one mile walk around our picturesque ISU campus. Come walk and talk with friends, colleagues, or just come and enjoy the beauty of campus. Join ISU WorkLife and WellBeing and de-stress from the week. Whether you are in-person on campus or prefer to join us virtually, the Friday Walk and Talks are an excellent way to connect and network with others! To sign up and join us virtually, click here. Monday November 8: ISU WorkLife- EAP Workshop- Self-Care 101 | 11:00 am - Noon

Many people don't hesitate to help others, but when it comes time to help themselves, they think twice. Self-care is not selfish and it is important, yet many times it is a last priority. Learn how to put yourself first at least once a day to enhance all areas of your life and maximize well-being in this virtual course. Course aims: Perform a self-care self-check across the eight dimensions of wellness, identify areas of your life in need of attention, and make an action plan to help prioritize self-care. Tuesday November 9 and Tuesday November 16: ISU Extension and Outreach- Money Smart: Taking Control of Your $ | 12:00 - 1:00 pm

This workshop provides a “big picture” overview of what it means to be in control of your money on a month-to-month basis, and then looks at specific strategies to make that easier. Spending plans will be covered, including how to make a spending plan that is truly realistic, AND how to put plans into action effectively.
