ISU WellBeing: Meditation 301: Compassionate Action | 2:30 - 3:00 pm *Last session of Fall 2021 Series*

The world is a dynamic and difficult place where it's easy to feel overwhelmed.  How can we build the inner resources to work with others' distress as well as our own, so that we can be of benefit without getting burned out?  We will focus on meditation techniques and teachings that can help us to build trust in ourselves and our ability to handle our experience.  There is no better way to stay focused and productive when all around you is a little chaotic than to practice mindfulness. Join your colleagues and the ISU WellBeing team, and special guests, every Tuesday and Thursday mornings for a simple 15-minute mindfulness experience. Mindspring Mental Health Alliance Webinar: Common Family Reactions to Mental Illness | 12:00 - 1:00 pm 

Understanding why people experience things differently can help to ease tension & increase acceptance. Mindspring Mental Health Alliance Webinar: Talking to Children About Mental Health  | 12:00 - 1:00 pm 

Children are curious about their environment and the people around them. Dsm Magazine: Lifting the Veil- Caring for Those Who Care for Our Kids | 12:00 - 1:00 pm

The lives of Iowa families have been irreversibly altered by the pandemic. This program, aimed at parents and at those who care for kids across a wide variety of professions, will focus on the effect of the pandemic on teachers, child care professionals and health care workers; how the well-being of these individuals affects families and parents; and what we as a community need to do to create and sustain strong care systems for the future.          ISU WellBeing: Friday Walk and Talk  | 12:10 pm

Join us as we continue our Friday Walk & Talks this fall. We’ll meet on Fridays at 12:10 on the front steps of Beardshear for a one mile walk around our picturesque ISU campus. Come walk and talk with friends, colleagues, or just come and enjoy the beauty of campus. Join ISU WorkLife and WellBeing and de-stress from the week. Whether you are in-person on campus or prefer to join us virtually, the Friday Walk and Talks are an excellent way to connect and network with others! To sign up and join us virtually, click here.
