While exercise may not be magical, research continues to support movement’s positive impact in relieving stress. But for most the idea of exercise tends to trigger negative attitudes and resistance to regular movement.

It's that time of year... Get your flu shot!

ISU WellBeing is once again partnering with Occupational Medicine to provide flu vaccinations to eligible ISU employees. The vaccine is provided at no cost as a service through ISU WellBeing. This year flu vaccinations will be available October 7 - October 18 from 9:00am - 4:00 pm, Monday - Friday at 205 TASF.

Here are some tips to help make your flu vaccination as painless as possible:

The 4th annual Cyday Friday Employee Walk is Friday, August 30! 

Wear your favorite Cyclone apparel on Friday, August 30 and join us in front of Beardshear Hall for a one-mile walk around scenic central campus.

Protect Yourself from the Measles before the Students Return

Before the students return to campus in mid-August, make sure you are protected against the Measles virus. As of last spring, the Measles virus has spread across the United States and made its way to Iowa. Currently, two confirmed cases have been reported in the state. This is a highly contagious disease that spreads easily through airborne droplets around the unvaccinated populations, such as babies and those with autoimmune diseases.

Yoga in the Yard with Recreation Services

Yoga in the Yard is a summer event you do not want to miss out on! Held in the evenings on the south side of the Campanile there will be FREE Yoga events hosted by Iowa State Recreation Services! If you or anyone you know is interested in participating the event dates and times are as follows:

  • Thursday July 18 at 5:30 PM
  • Monday July 22 at 5:30 PM
  • Monday July 29 at 5:30 PM
  • Thursday August 8 at 5:30 PM

Ready, set, WALK! Friday Walk & Talks are back!

Get excited! Starting June 7th, the summer Walk & Talks kick-off. Take a break from the office and join ISU WellBeing in front of Beardshear at 12:15 every Friday from June 7th through August 16th for a 30 minute walk around our beautiful campus. Walk at your own pace, mingle with colleagues, and enjoy the warm, summer weather.
