The third-annual Local Foods Festival will start at 9:30 a.m. and run until 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 19! Last year we had a record-breaking attendance of 2,500 ISU employees and students, and we’re hoping to have a great turn out again this year!
Didn’t make it last year? Well, here’s the scoop: Vendors will congregate on central campus the morning of Sept. 19 and start preparing their locally grown and produced goods, including some free samples. Along with yummy food, vendors will do demonstrations and provide tips and tricks for successful growing. Once 9:30 rolls around, you can venture out and greet more than 20 vendors at their tents and enjoy the fall day!
This event is a great time to go out and support the community as well as take a nice stroll through campus. Many “foodies” will love that they can try free samples as they make their way through the Local Foods Festival. This farmers’ market feel is the perfect fall experience – be on the lookout for pumpkin-spiced everything!
For more information you can check out their Facebook page(1) and their ISU page(2)
This is an adventure in eating worth trying – and we hope to see some new and returning faces!
